Purrfectly Pawsitive provides a range of cat grooming services - both in-home and salon. On my first visit to you I will take a cat history (including medical and grooming history) and get all the details that you require for their first groom. Please note that we go at the speed your cat requires for comfort and only as far as your cat will tolerate, sometimes to limit stressful situations we may need to groom over two sessions. We monitor your cat for stress and will stop the groom if we feel they are becoming distressed or if we feel that their behaviour risks them or us. As their owner you are also more than welcome to stay with us during the groom.
Pricing is a ‘start from’ price as there are many factors that need to be taken into account to determine the amount of work required and the amount of time that it will take. Matting and aggressive cats can add extra time to the groom for example as well as breed, coat length, size of cat.
Dry Groom Deshed & Brushout
A dry cat groom usually includes the following
- Claw clipping (we often clip claws for safety reasons)
- Full brush through and de-shed to help reduce shedding and the build up of dead fur
- Matt removal - either using a comb or clippers depending on size (this may incur an extra fee due to time and wear and tear on equipment)
- Ears and eyes cleaned
- An optional waterless shampoo (foam or spray) or grooming powder (depending on coat condition)
Approx time is 45 minutes - 1 hour
Wet Groom
A wet cat groom usually includes the following
- Claw clipping (we often clip claws for safety reasons)
- Full brush through and de-shed to help reduce shedding and the build up of dead fur
- Matt removal - either using a comb or clippers depending on size (this may incur an extra fee due to time and wear and tear on equipment)
- Ears and eyes cleaned
- Bath with cat safe shampoo and dry
Approx time is 90 minutes to 2 hours and salon only
Pelt Removal (full body dematt)
Pelted cats occur when the matts start to form one large piece on the body. This is very stressful to remove for the cat so we often have to take breaks. Pelting can also cause skin issues and be tightly wrapped around parts of the cat. This procedure may need to be carried out over a couple of visits.

Additional Services
We provide additional optional extras that can be added to a full groom. These include:
Teddy Bear Clip - A longer clip that a lion cut and it usually keeps the hair shorter than a centimeter
Hygiene clip - A clip around the cat's bottom areas in order to help litterbox cleanliness (can also be a standalone service).
Lion Cut - A full clip which leaves fur on the end of the tail, boots on legs and head and chest. We do assess the cat first before providing this clip as it can be stressful due to clipper noise and vibrations.
Full or partial belly clip
